Sunshine Village offers a variety of rental equipment for skiers and snowboarders of all levels, including skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, and poles. It is recommended to reserve equipment in advance, especially during peak season, to ensure availability. When picking up rental equipment, guests will need to present their rental confirmation and a valid photo ID. Getting to Sunshine Village from Charltons Banff:
One of the best things about staying at Charltons Banff is our proximity to Sunshine Village. Located roughly 13 kilometers west of Banff. To reach the resort from Banff, drive west on Banff Avenue towards LAKE LOUISE for about 10 kilometers, then turn left onto Sunshine Road and continue for 3 kilometers to the base area.
Winter driving necessitates winter tires or chains due to potential ice and snow on the road. Caution is advised for wildlife, especially at dawn and dusk, and extra travel time should be allocated, particularly during peak season.

“My first impression of The Charltons Banff was a very good one. We had arrived hours before check in and knew we'd never find a parking space in town. The staff let me park at the hotel long before check in time. Later, they let us borrow a can of bear spray for all our hikes so we didn't have to buy it. They were super friendly, and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room on the first floor was nice with a comfortable queen bed and a large bathroom with separate tub and shower. We had plenty of space and were very comfortable. The location is a bit out from the main tourist area of town, so keep that in mind if you don't like walking. We arrived late due to a delayed flight and we were greeted graciously by the reception who said they were expecting us and offered food options in the area at such a late hour on a Sunday, having been travelling for nearly 24 hours at that point. The location is also pretty good, it takes about 10 minutes to walk into the centre, with an IGA supermarket nearby too”
